Allopathic and osteopathic medical students in their final year of school are eligible to receive as much as $120,000, tax-free, in exchange for three years of full-time service (or six years of part-time service) providing primary care at an NHSC-approved facility in an underserved community.

In 2013, 8,900 Affordable Care Act-supported National Health Service Corps clinicians are providing health care to over 9.3 million people across the country.
