NHSC STATE-BY-STATE GUIDE TO PRIMARY CARE OPPORTUNITIES

OKLAHOMA

Oklahoma is traversed by rivers, streams, and bountiful lakes. The rolling, tree-filled hills and barren plains of the panhandle are home to one of the largest American Indian populations of any state, a rich Native American culture shared and respected throughout Oklahoma. Contributing to the diversity of the state are numerous separate mountain ranges and the major cities of Oklahoma City and Tulsa, where more than half of the state’s residents live.
